Should I Wear My Invisalign at Night?

Straightening your teeth can be a subtle process with Invisalign® clear aligner therapy. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign clear aligners are nearly invisible so they discreetly shift your teeth into their desired positions.

In this blog post, we’ll review the Invisalign process from receiving your first set of aligners to enjoying your new smile!

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign clear aligner therapy is an orthodontic alternative to traditional metal braces. It corrects mild to moderate crookedness, misalignment, and malocclusion using custom trays that slip on over the teeth.

Every two weeks, you will receive a new set of clear aligners designed to straighten your teeth progressively. The typical timeline for Invisalign is 12-18 months, though the exact duration will depend on your individual misalignment before treatment and compliance during treatment.

How Long Should You Wear Your Invisalign Clear Aligners?

You remove your aligners to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. This means there are fewer adjustments to your diet and oral hygiene than with traditional braces that are bonded to your teeth.

Invisalign clear aligners should be worn throughout the day, including while you sleep at night, to total at least 20-22 hours a day. Wearing your aligners for less time will prolong your overall treatment time.

Is Invisalign Affordable?

Invisalign is an affordable treatment that usually costs around the same amount as traditional metal braces. A Meason Orthodontics, we accept most major insurance plans, FSAS and HSAS, have a flexible payment plan, and offer new patient specials to make treatments affordable.
